Haiti experienced a devastating earthquake as more than 100,000 people died and property worth millions, completely destroyed. Haiti has asked for help from different countries and organizations. To serve the purpose of rebuilding the city and providing basic necessities to the affected people from different parts of the world are coming out to help. Orlando hotelier Harris Rosen, Sen Bill Nelson and Orlando's Haitian community has joined hands to provide a relief of 1 million dollars in order to help the victims.
However, Rosen hotels has not confined itself in raising financial donations as they are also engaged in providing first aids, medical and hygiene supplies, towels and clothes. The reliefs also include flashlights, batteries, bug spray and various other necessities. The medical personnel are also working on war footing to provide medical treatment to the victims. The Harris Rossen Foundation has taken up the responsibility of channeling the money appropriately and they have guaranteed of 100 percent utilization. Moreover, donating through the non-profit organization will also make your donations tax-deductible. Rosen said that even after they achieve the initially set target of 1 million dollars, their efforts would not stop as the damage done by the earthquake is immense and it needs long term commitment. Rosen's commitment can be understood from the fact that he personally donated $250,000.
Some of the places that have been selected as the location where reliefs would be dropped are The Rosen Centre Hotel, Child Development Centre of Orlando, Jewish Community Center and a few others.
