Choice Hotels International expanding to reach more guests

Good news has recently come flowing from the big brand of hotels, Choice Hotels International. They have announced their plan of including 46 hotels to its family brand. It received affiliation from Colony Capital, LLC, including Colony Financial and hospitality management company Aimbridge Hospitality. This huge list of properties will be franchised under the Quality Inn, Comfort Inn and Econo Lodge Brands. The President and CEO of Choice Hotels International is very thrilled to have such a proposition in 2013 itself.

The new Choice Brand Hotels are now found in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Under the agreement, these new hotels will be managed by Dallas based Aimbridge Hospitality, which is itself a leading hotel management firm. Choice group of hotels are known for delivering great value to their guests. The renovated hotels are ready to provide a better experience. According to their plan, 42 hotels will be operated as Quality Inn Hotels, 2 as Comfort Inn Hotels and the remaining 2 will be branded as Econo Lodge Hotels.

The company began in 1939 as Quality Courts United in Maryland. It consisted of seven motel owners in a chain system. There were no strict norms or guidelines from the company’s side. In the beginning of business, Quality Courts tried operating in the areas of the U.S. east of the Mississippi River and portions of Canada. It had a marketing partnership with Best Western, which was located in the west of Mississippi. However this partnership did not work out.

The company next became Quality International in 1972 and started welcoming franchisee. Quality Inns promoted segmentation in the lodging industry and introduced Comfort Inns and Quality Royale. Comfort Inns faced impressive growths and converted to Clarion Hotels in 1987. It provided a range of services like restaurants, lounges, room services and banquet and conference facilities. They also offered deluxe continental breakfast, free local calling facility, swimming pools and eye-catching interior designs. The company then introduced Mainstay Suites that offered affordable and comfortable accommodations along with other desired amenities.

Suites of this brand have a fully equipped kitchen, sofa bed and closet, work space and free continental breakfast. The public space is covered by guest room laundry, sundries shop and exercise rooms. In 1992 it was chosen as the largest franchise hotel chain in the world. In 2008, the company introduced the Ascend Collection, which was previously Clarion Collection. It has a collection of historic, boutique and unique hotels too.
