Sint Niklaas - The perfect B&B at Burges

Sint Niklaas B&B located in the centre of Bruges in Western Belgium could be the perfect stay for you, while visiting the country. It is only a few steps away from the Market Square and Burges. The building was once a hospital during 14th century but now has turned into a two-storied guesthouse. Beside the front door of the guesthouse, there is a wall full of medieval maps. Burges is a delightful UNESCO World Heritage site having canals passing by and several eateries on the streets.

Spacious accommodation

Sint Niklaas has three double bedrooms, one at the first floor and two at the second floor. Oval Room is on the first floor, flaunting 19th century ceiling and elegant design. The sleeping area is divided with the bathroom by a partition wall and its bathroom has a walk-in shower.

Rooftop Room, as the name suggests is placed on the second floor on the roof. It maintains a chocolate color décor throughout. Bathroom is smaller with a tub, but this suite has a wonderful view over the Old Town.

Belfort Room has an extraordinarily spacious bedroom along with a desk area that leads to the stairs for attic. To witness stunning views reach the attic and take pleasure seeing the town from top. Bedrooms have romantic double bed with a red rug for the couples. Bathroom has a power shower that you will surely love. The famous Bell Tower of Bruges can be viewed from every room of the guesthouse. There is also some space for keeping an extra bed or a baby cot for the travelling families.

Delicious dining

Start your morning with boiled egg, toast, jam and local cheese or you can also gorge into yoghurt, cereals, cold meats, fruit salad and delicious fresh pastries. There is a small bar in the lounge offering a variety of cocktails. The best thing about Belgium is its romance with chocolate. Many shops even sell waffles and frites. Most of these shops allow its visitors to taste samples from their shops, which is a very thrilling experience.

Best waffles can be found in Salé et Sucré and finest chocolate shops are Neuhaus and Sweertvaegher. For food, you might satisfy your appetite within this guesthouse only. However, best quality chocolates of Belgium might force you to venture around the streets in search of some sweet delicacies.

Activities

Take a boat tour along the canal while spotting swans swimming by your side. Rush to the Bell Tower nearby to have a panoramic view of the town from the top. Burg Square is famous for its 14th century Town Hall. Hire a bike to venture around the locality. Make sure when you visit the chocolate museum, you listen to its historical stories from the shop owners.

Museum of Frite is another food museum where you can hear stories about potato while tasting a few lip smacking dishes. Alcohol lovers can try visiting De Halve Maan brewery. It also allows its guests to taste their finest wines.
