Pousada Casa De Paraty – Waterfalls, Rainforest and deep pools

Look at the corner of two cobbled streets of a coastal colonial town of Paraty to find Pousada Casa de Paraty. It is located in between Rio and Sau Paulo in Brazil. It takes four hours to reach Pousada Casa by car from both these places. Once you reach here, you will be fascinated by this villa. All the three suites of this guesthouse are whitewashed, trimmed in bright colors seated in a surrounding of turquoise sea and tropical islands.

The blissful beds, rain showers and plenty to eat, displays exquisite taste of its owners. The clear blue pool and the rainforest with a gorgeous waterfall add to the luxurious staying in the guesthouse. The natural surrounding and its tranquility attract both families and couples equally. Fresh flowers are sprawling everywhere in the guesthouse.

Cozy accommodation

A blue front door opens to the living room of the guesthouse. Take the little staircase from the living room to reach the Main Suite. Here you will find a king sized bed with colorful armchairs. Bathrooms have a rain shower as well as a tub and a small cozy balcony, overlooking the sea through banana trees. However, Garden Suite is the smallest but has a queen-sized bed. Bathroom has a shower and necessary toiletries are provided inside. There is a serene patio outside the room, where you can enjoy your morning breakfast.

Guest House Suite is two storied and very spacious. Mostly families with their children are allotted with this suite. The suite has a private way leading to the street, which is very interesting. There is a small kitchen with necessary equipments including a fridge, hob, copper sink, microwave and a few armchairs around a dinning table. Bedroom is upstairs having a king sized bed covered in light colored linens. For the parents or couples, special daybed is there on the rooftop, from where you can receive views of the sea.

Bathroom is very airy and has both - a sunken tub as well as a rain shower. Necessary things like towels, bathrobes, hair dryer and other toiletries are also provided in the bathroom for your benefit.   

Indoor dining

You can enjoy breakfast indoors sitting in your suite or at the private patio. A spread of food is available in the morning including fruit salad, ham, cream cheese, a basket of freshly baked breads, yoghurt, squeezed orange juice, granola, condiments such as local honey and jam, eggs and plentiful tea and coffee. So, you need not rush outside in search of restaurant to have your first food of the day.

Guest House Suite has a kitchen within, with some utensils, cutlery, pots and pans, microwave and a kettle so you can cook your own food. The grocer shop is in the nearby locality therefore it will be easier for you to cook. However, guests of the other suites can stroll along the cobbled streets to look for restaurants at the time of lunch or dinner. 

Margarita café is known for its good cocktails. Banana de Terra is a bit too pricey but offers a good variety of innovative fusion foods. Innovative seafood is also available here, such as fish with bananas or tapioca puree. You can also choose to eat Thai food or sit down with a pizza. A few eateries can be tried out during lunch that is by the beach or near the beautiful waterfalls.

Activities 

Ride a boat through the sea or hike the Atlantic rainforest during your stay at Pousada Casa. Cars can be hired to see Tobogã da Penha waterfalls, the museum and distillery. Experience sailing, kayaking, scuba diving or mountain biking. Puppet theatre shows puppet shows where you must avoid taking children with you. Engage yourself in bird spotting and look for hummingbirds, black vultures, herons, etc.

Forte Defensor is an 18th century construction where you will still find British made cannons beside ruined walls. Now the Powder House has been turned into a museum for the tourists like you. Paraty has several boutiques, shops, art galleries and 18th- and 19th-century churches. Pay a visit to these. When you are tired of moving around the place, relax your body in spa and massage centers or practice yoga.
