Stephen P. Holmes is the esteemed Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Wyndham Worldwide, one of the greatest hospitality companies across the globe, operating in around 100 countries and has been ranked lately by the Fortune magazine, as the most noteworthy company in the hospitality domain. Before joining Wyndham Worldwide in 2006, Mr. Holmes served as the Vice Chairperson and the Member of the Board of Directors of Cendant Corporation, where he used to take care of the Cendant’s hotel franchise, timeshare development, vehicle rental, timeshare exchange and vacation rental business. He showed his innovativeness in creating TripRewards (R) loyalty program and by launching the successful RCI Points Program for the timeshare industry.
Holmes had presided over the Chair of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of HFS Incorporated, and was responsible for the successful public offering of the company. He also implemented successful financial policy for the profit of the company and took care of the administrative functions of the organization. During Stephen’s tenure as CFO at HFS, the organization acquired more than 20 businesses and became one of the fastest-growing stocks on the New York Exchange. Mr. Holmes played the role of Vice President of HFS Incorporated from September 1996 to December 1997, a director of HFS from June 1994 to December 1997 and Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of HFS from July 1990 to September 1996.
Previously, Stephen was the Managing Director and Vice President of the Blackstone Group. He initiated his career at Deloitte LLP. In addition to his position at Wyndham Worldwide, Mr. Holmes also presided as the Vice Chairman of the World Travel & Tourism Council and the Travel Business Roundtable. He is also an important member of the Board of Trustees of Bucknell University. He was also bestowed the title of 2007 Hall of Leaders by the US Travel Association.
Mr. Holmes also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Travel Content Division and chairman of Avis Budget Group Inc. from December 1997 to July 2006. He also served as the Head of the Division. Mr. Holmes also served as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Chartwell Leisure, Inc., from November 1994 to February 1996. He also served as the Director of National Gaming Corp. He also served as a Director of AMRE Inc. since November 15, 1995.
Mr. Stephen Holmes also contributes his time to the Boys and Girls Club and is a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Chilton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
