A new leisure airline from Air Canada

Air Canada has launched a brand new leisure airline named Air Canada Rogue, which was publicized following a contest launched on Facebook inviting employees, customers and travel industry professionals for their opinion. All facts regarding the contest and prize owners have been posted on Facebook.com/aircanada.

According to Ben Smith, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Air Canada, the launch of Air Canada Rogue was targeted to the thriving leisure travel market on a true competitive basis. Ben Smith was present at a news conference in Toronto to launch the new leisure airline. He also added that in joint venture with Air Canada Vacations, part of the newly introduced leisure group, Air Canada Rogue will strengthen the extensive network of Air Canada, offering the Canadians great value for their vacation travel.

Michael Friisdahl, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada’s Leisure Group, opined that with leisure time at a peak, Air Canada rouge will offer reasonable fares and superb service. He added that the organization is looking forward to give the guests warm welcome onboard Air Canada rouge, Canada’s wonderfully stylish leisure airline.

Special introductory Air Canada rogue fares are now on sale to: Edinburgh, Venice, Athens, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Costa Rica.

For its inaugural 2013 season, Air Canada rouge is all set to introduce new routes not currently operated by Air Canada to Venice, Italy and Edinburgh, Scotland. Moreover, the leisure carrier will operate the seasonal services of Air Canada from Montreal and Toronto to Athens, Greece. Similarly, the present Air Canada flights, which are operated in association with Air Canada Vacations to Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Costa Rica will be operated by Air Canada rouge, effectively from July 2013.
