With the recent opening of the Club Med Resorts in Yabuli, China has got its first Club Med Resort. Club Med Yabuli is located in the heart of the Yabuli National Park at an altitude of 470 meters, 177 km south-east from Harbin at the Northeast of China in Heilongjiang Province.
The resort has a Presidential Suite of 120 sq. m along with a total of 283 luxurious and spacious rooms. It also has 42 suites offering spectacular views of the mountain range and 123 Deluxe Rooms with 117 Superior Rooms and interconnecting rooms meant for families. The 4 Trident Yabuli Resort will join Club Med’s impressive portfolio of 23 ski resorts, offering experienced skiers, beginners, couples and families the luxury of a premium winter experience in China.
Yabuli has gained a first rate reputation after hosting the 2009 Winter Universiade. It has 18 ski runs including two green, 11 blue and five black. Club Med Yabuli has the largest beginners’ teaching terrain in the country; tuition is part of Club Med’s all-inclusive package and has ski school-certified instructors taking regular group or private lessons throughout the day. A high speed, eight-passenger, heated POMA Gondola takes skiers up the 530 meter vertical rise to the mountain top in seven minutes.
Apart from ski the club also offers snow tubing and the longest Alpine slides in Asia along with a host of indoor activities like a flying trapeze, bungee bounce, yoga and billiards.
The club has provision for the children accompanied by their parents on vacations as well. For children aged between two and three years old, there’s the Petit Club Med; those from 4-11 years old have a Mini Club Med, while pre-teens and teens from 12 -17 years old can retreat to a Junior Club Med. The Resort also has a ‘Pyjama Club’ which looks after the young ones
Yabuli along with its winter sport experience boasts of the finest culinary experience - a patent of Club Med around the globe. Here it has made its first ever Chinese restaurant, Mudan, complete with six VIP rooms. It has a la carte menu of specialties from Northeast China. The resort also offers international and Italian menus at The Apple Garden and Bianco.
With all the fun loaded winter activities the club has made full provisions for relaxing the aching muscle. It has tied up with L’Occitane for an outdoor Jacuzzi, a luxury spa and an adult-only indoor pool. The spa offers 10 treatment suites and two foot reflexology suites with deep tissue massage and facials.
Club Med Resorts have several destinations in Asia as well - such as Club Med Phuket and Club Med Bali. Other popular resorts are Val d ‘Isere and Chamonix scattered across the Alps, Europe.
