Johnny Rocket is all set to open its unit in Indonesia for the first time in order to promote its international growth. Wiryantii Sukamdani, who is the franchisee and the president of the Indonesian Tourism Board, is planning to open the first Johnny Rockets in the new Beach Walk Center on the Kuta Bali beach in the first phase of 2012. Four more locations are also planned in the next five years.
John Fuller, Chief Executive of Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based Johnny Rockets, opined that this initiative further shows the commitment of Johnny Rockets to international development. He also holds that the locals and tourists of Indonesia will undoubtedly appreciate the cleanliness, freshness, liveliness and affability “we bring to the table every day.” In the first phase of this year, Fuller said that the company is planning to introduce its units in 200 to 300 locations in the next five years, about 60 percent of which would be overseas. Franchise agreements in this year have included moves into Korea, Russia, Libya and the Dominican Republic.
