The famous Italian trade show for events, incentive travel, meetings, business tourism industry and conferences BTC 2011 was held on 1st July, 2011, the show came to a successful end at the Fiera di Rimini Exhibition Centre. In comparison to last year, BTC 2011 was more organized this year. Apart from being an excellent host, Rimini provided modern exhibition facilities.
This Italian trade show comprised 278 Italian and International hosted buyers, 313 exhibiting companies and 60 representatives of the press. Over the two days of the show, the total attendance was around 8.82% and some 6417 appointments were held between hosted buyers and exhibitors. Satisfaction was expressed by visitors and hosted buyers regarding the diversification of exhibitors.
Owing to the partnership with Stratego/P5, suppliers operating in non-conventional marketing, technology and communications were also present in the show. Stratego/P5 managed and organized the special area called The MarkEvent and Teknocongress that runs the area of Tech&Fun.
On the other hand, the exhibitors judged the hosted buyers to be of superior quality. The selection process was conducted by the buyer office of BTC with the help of International Consultants like Starwood and Federcongressi&eventi, the main Italian industry association.
According to the Exhibition Manager of BTC, Gabriella Ghigi, the show provided a lot of opportunities and had something to offer to each player of the industry. This year, the show brought together business along with educational events, occasion for industry to meet institutions’ representatives, networking evenings and for associations to bring their members together. This is considered to be the reason for the rise in number of visitors, who mostly came to the show for professional reasons.
BTC was host to the first public presentations of two important topical issues for the industry, the interregional MICE in Italia project and Italy’s Convention Bureau. Over two days, some 18 seminars were held that were well attended. “Investment and Buying Behavior of Italian and European companies” is considered to be the best attended event of the show. The show’s pre and post activities was also well attended by the visitors namely the Moonlight Party at Borgo San Giuliano and the visit to key venue, Rimini’s new Palacongressi.
BTC is organized by Exmedia. According to Paolo Audino, the CEO of Exmedia, BTC has confirmed itself to be the key event for the Italian events and meetings industry. Besides delivering important content, BTC has been able to align itself with the business objectives of the operators and provide them with the right opportunities.
Exmedia is planning on developing BTC further so that it can be an excellent meeting place for the industry where different talent, contacts, projects and ideas can be cultivated. The next BTC is to be held in 2012 at the Fiera di Rimini Exhibition Centre, on June 21 and 22.
